Quotes

This couple of days I have been re-reading some of my old books, and discovered some quotes that to this day make me think anything in life is possible. Please do enjoy the quotes, but it would be best if you read the books, they are somewhat life changing.

  • Eleven Minutes (Paulo Coelho)

"At every moment of our lives, we all have one foot in a fairy tale and the other in the abyss."

"I can choose either to be a victim of the world or an adventurer in search of treasure. It's all a question of how I view my life."

"I've learned that waiting is the most difficult bit, and I want to get used to the feeling, knowing that you're with me, even when you're not by my side."

"The strongest love is the love that can demonstrate its fragility. Anyway, if my love is real (and not just a way of distracting myself, deceiving myself, and passing the time that never seems to pass in this city), freedom will conquer jealousy and any pain it causes me, since pain is also part of the natural process.

"Always making plans for the future, and always being surprised by the present."

"In all the languages in the world, there is the same proverb: 'What the eyes don't see, the heart doesn't grieve over.' Well, I say that there isn't an ounce of truth in it. The further off they are, the closer to the heart are all those feelings that we try to repress and forget. If we're in exile, we want to store away every tiny memory of our roots. If we're far from the person we love, everyone we pass in the street reminds us of them."

"Considering the way the world is, one happy day is almost a miracle."

  • The Alchemist (Paulo Coelho)
"When you know that language, it's easy to believe that someone in the world awaits you, whether it's in the middle of the desert or in some great city… without such love, one's dreams would have no meaning."

"Everyone on earth has a treasure that awaits him."

"Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And that no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams, because every second of the search is a second's encounter with God and with eternity."

"Making a decision was only the beginning of things. When someone makes a decision, he is really diving into a strong current that will carry him to places he had never dreamed of when he first made the decision."

"The world's greatest lie: At a certain point in our lives we lose control of what's happening to us and our lives become controlled by fate."

“Every search begins with beginner’s luck. And every search ends with the victor’s being severely tested.”

I still have more books to read, so I'll keep you posted.
